EUROMAR-ISMAR 2027 is committed to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment in which all participants can contribute fully and benefit from the conference experience.
We believe that scientific excellence is strengthened by diversity of backgrounds, perspectives, experiences, career stages, and disciplines. Promoting inclusion is therefore an integral part of our vision for the conference and for the broader magnetic resonance community.
Organizational commitment
Diversity and inclusion are considered throughout the planning and organisation of the conference.
The Local Organising Committee and Scientific Committee strive to reflect the diversity of the international magnetic resonance community. Particular attention is devoted to achieving balanced representation across gender, geography, scientific discipline, career stage, and institutional background.
The conference will seek to promote diversity among:
- Plenary, tutorial, and invited speakers;
- Session chairs and moderators;
- Scientific committees and advisory bodies;
- Award recipients and highlighted contributions;
- Participants selected for oral presentations.
All scientific evaluations and selection processes will be conducted according to principles of fairness, transparency, and scientific merit.
Inclusive Scientific Discussions
Scientific exchange is at the heart of EUROMAR-ISMAR 2027.
Session chairs will be encouraged to foster an open and inclusive atmosphere during discussions, ensuring that participants from different backgrounds and career stages feel comfortable contributing questions and comments.
Particular attention will be paid to encouraging participation from students, early-career researchers, and groups that have historically been underrepresented within the scientific community.
Family-Friendly Conference
We recognise that family responsibilities can represent a significant barrier to conference participation.
EUROMAR-ISMAR 2027 aims to create an environment that is welcoming to attendees with families and young children. Information on available family-support measures will be provided as the conference approaches.
Planned initiatives may include:
- Information on local childcare options;
- Family-friendly facilities at the conference venue;
- Dedicated nursing and lactation rooms;
- Guidance on family activities available in Lyon and the surrounding region;
- Practical information for accompanying family members.
We are actively exploring additional measures that may further facilitate participation by parents and caregivers.
Accessibility
The Lyon Convention Centre and the conference infrastructure are designed to be accessible to participants with reduced mobility.
Participants with specific accessibility requirements are encouraged to contact the conference organizers in advance so that appropriate arrangements can be made whenever possible.
