• EUROMAR-ISMAR 2027 is committed to organizing a conference that combines scientific excellence with environmental responsibility, inclusivity, and social engagement.
    As a major international event, we recognize our responsibility to minimize the environmental footprint of the conference while ensuring that participation remains accessible, welcoming, and rewarding for researchers from all backgrounds, career stages, and geographical regions.
    Our approach is guided by a simple principle: creating a high-quality scientific meeting while making thoughtful and responsible choices wherever possible.

    Travelling sustainably

    Travel to and from international conferences is typically the largest contributor to conference-related CO₂ emissions, with air travel accounting for the vast majority of the impact.
    Whenever feasible, we encourage participants to choose rail travel instead of flying. Lyon is exceptionally well connected by the European high-speed rail network, with direct or convenient connections to many major cities including Paris, Geneva, Brussels, London, Frankfurt, Barcelona, Milan, and Amsterdam.
    Participants interested in estimating and comparing the environmental impact of different travel options may use online carbon footprint calculators such as:

    Responsible Catering

    Food choices also play an important role in reducing the environmental impact of conferences.
    Vegetarian and vegan options will be available at all conference meals and social events. Whenever possible, catering will prioritize seasonal products, local suppliers, and responsible sourcing practices.
    Participants are encouraged to explore the rich culinary traditions of Lyon while supporting local businesses and sustainable food initiatives.

    Responsible Waste Management

    The conference will seek to minimize waste generation through a variety of measures, including:

    • Digital communication and conference materials whenever possible;
    • Limiting unnecessary printed documents and promotional items;
    • Encouraging the use of reusable water bottles and containers;
    • Providing appropriate recycling and waste-sorting facilities at the venue;
    • Working with suppliers committed to sustainable practices.

    Inclusivity and Accessibility

    EUROMAR-ISMAR 2027 is committed to fostering a welcoming, respectful, and inclusive environment for all participants.
    We value diversity in all its forms, including scientific background, career stage, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, nationality, ethnicity, culture, and life experience. We believe that a diverse and inclusive scientific community is essential for creativity, innovation, and scientific excellence.
    Particular attention will be devoted to supporting the participation of students and early-career researchers, promoting balanced representation throughout the scientific programme, and ensuring that all attendees feel respected and able to contribute fully to the conference.
    We also aim to make participation accessible through a range of accommodation options, travel-support opportunities where available, and an environment that encourages open and constructive scientific exchange.

    Code of Conduct

    All participants, speakers, exhibitors, organizers, sponsors, and service providers are expected to adhere to the EUROMAR-ISMAR 2027 Code of Conduct.
    The Code of Conduct reflects our commitment to maintaining a safe, respectful, professional, and productive environment for everyone attending the conference, whether in person or online.
    By participating in EUROMAR-ISMAR 2027, all attendees agree to abide by these principles and contribute positively to the conference community.Today, France hosts one of the highest concentrations of advanced magnetic resonance facilities in Europe, including more than sixteen ultra-high-field NMR spectrometers operating above 17.5 T (including a 1.2 GHz instrument), nine pulsed EPR facilities, seven ultra-high-field preclinical MRI installations, and three clinical 7 T MRI systems, with additional facilities under development. Together, these infrastructures provide an exceptional environment for innovation across the full spectrum of magnetic resonance research.
